VI. Notification of Rights

Students shall be informed annually of their rights under the policy and under the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), as amended, and its implementing regulations. Such notification shall include publication of a statement in the General Catalog and other appropriate official campus publications, indicating that a student has a right to:

A.  Inspect and review the student's own records;

B.  request correction of the student's own records;

C.  grieve an alleged violation of privacy rights;

D.  consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in student records, except to the extent disclosures without consent are authorized under FERPA;

E.  file with the United States Department of Education a complaint concerning alleged failures by the campus to comply with the requirements of FERPA.
