Order Your Official Transcripts and Academic Records

Request official or unofficial transcripts, add narrative evaluations or attachments, and explore delivery options, fees, and special services. You’ll also find instructions for accessing your records and tracking transcript orders.

How to Order a Transcript

  • Go to Parchment, UC Santa Cruz’s official transcript vendor.
  • Create an account or log in. You’ll need your Student ID number. If you don’t have it, you can use the last four digits of your SSN as a placeholder or request your ID through IT Services.
  • Choose your transcript format (PDF or paper) and add any attachments, if needed.
  • Select delivery options, such as standard or express mail.
  • Decide if you want special processing, such as notarization or a signed and sealed envelope.
  • Pay for any special services with a debit or credit card.
  • Track your order through your Parchment account.

Official Academic Transcripts

All transcripts include: courses, grades, degrees awarded, honors, and number of transfer credits. For more details on notations and definitions, see:

Current enrollments do not appear on the official transcript until the day after the Add/Drop/Swap deadline (see Academic and Administrative Calendar).

Official UCSC transcripts are available in PDF form (for students who attended 1986 and later) and paper form. PDF transcript recipients will be sent instructions on how to access the transcript through a secure site. Once accessed, the recipient has 24 hours to save the transcript file.

During the ordering process you may add attachments to your order.  Follow the directions in Parchment.

Students who do not have a UCSC GPA (those who began their UCSC careers prior to 2000) are encouraged to include their narrative evaluations with their transcript order. For additional detail, please see Narrative Evaluations, below.

Transcript-Related Fees and Payments

  • Basic transcript orders are now included free of charge as part of the Student Records Management Fee.
  • Special processing, if requested, includes an additional $20 charge per service requested.
  • Students can pay during the ordering process by using a debit/credit card.

To order your official transcript select the button below to access the Parchment website.  When creating your profile in Parchment, you will need your Student ID number. You can enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number as a placeholder to help us match your record and locate your ID number.  If you do not have your ID number number, you may also submit a guest ticket with ITS to obtain your Student ID number and access to your MyUCSC portal. Failure to include your ID number may result in a delay or cancelation of your order.

To track an existing order, please select this link and log in to your Parchment account.  Additional information on Order Tracking is available here.

Mailing Time

  • First-Class Mail: First-class mail has no additional charge. Due to the large volume of mail moving through the U.S. Postal Service system each day, it is not possible to track first-class mail to confirm delivery. We cannot provide refunds or duplicate transcripts for orders that do not arrive. Always verify the recipient’s address during the ordering process.
  • Express Mail: Express mailing can be selected during the ordering process, and has an additional charge. Tracking numbers are available by contacting registrar@ucsc.edu.
  • Notarization Delay: Notarization services may delay mailing time by up to five business days, and can also delay express mailing (if selected) by up to seven business days. For this reason, the Office of the Registrar does not advise selecting the overnight shipping option in combination with notarization unless you are willing to accept the delay.

Transcript Hold Options

You may request that your transcript be held until your grades or degree are posted to your record. Grades and degrees can be viewed on MyUCSC at any time.

The Common Application and Student Conduct Requests

Official transcripts contain the information needed for the Common Application, Coalition for College, the Scoir Network, or any other student transfer report.

As of March 2025, UC Santa Cruz no longer prepares student transfer reports, as the official transcript contains the necessary information. A Transfer Letter (PDF) confirms this policy. Students may send this letter to their chosen institution(s).

If a receiving institution requires the transfer letter to be sent directly from UCSC, students should order an official transcript and include the Transfer Letter as an attachment. The Registrar’s office does not send transfer letters to institutions on students’ behalf. If your application requires verification or disclosure of prior misconduct findings (Academic or other) contact the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Education (conduct@ucsc.edu) and the Academic Integrity Office (integrity@ucsc.edu) for information on receiving conduct verifications.

UCSC Extension Transcripts
