Update your info in MyUCSC
UC Santa Cruz recognizes that many community members use a lived name that differs from their legal name. Your lived name appears in key campus systems, including the Academic Information System (AIS), the Schedule of Classes, and student transcripts for instructors and TAs. The steps below outline how to update your lived name, as well as where to find information about making legal name changes if needed.
Updating your lived name
- Log into MyUCSC and select the Personal Information tile.
- From the left menu, choose Names.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add or update your lived name.
If you don’t see the Personal Information tile, go to Self Service from the Navigator menu, then select My Personal Information > Names.
Directory updates
Staff and faculty who are not current students may change their name directly in the campus directory.
Legal name changes
Employees can update their legal name in the UCPath portal. Changing your legal name in UCPath does not update AIS. Faculty and staff may also request a legal name change in MyUCSC using the legal name change form, available in the Staff eForms tile.
